On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at 7:00 pm Central Time, the AA Beyond Belief Podcast will be posted as a live stream on our YouTube Channel, our public Facebook page, and our Private Facebook group. This will be a live call-in show where you can participate by calling our toll-free number 844-899-8278. This number will only work for callers from the US and Canada. Those of you outside the US and Canada can type your comments in the live chat area on our Private Facebook group or our YouTube Channel. You can also post your comments right here.
What I have in mind for this episode is to lead with a brief reflection on what it’s been like to produce this podcast, and then I’ll introduce two topics for potential discussion.
- Anonymity. What is the role of anonymity in AA today? Is the tradition necessary?
- The Secular AA Movement. Is there such a thing, and if so, where is it going?
I may spend about 15 or 20 minutes introducing the topics before opening up the phones. When you call, you can comment on the topics or bring up anything that’s on your mind. Hopefully, there will be enough callers to fill the rest of the hour, and if we have enough callers, we could even go over an hour.
Now, I wouldn’t be surprised if we experience some technical snafus since this is our first attempt at this, so please be patient if that occurs. No matter what hiccups we experience, this will be a fun way to start the year. If it works out, we will stream again in the future and in those future streams, we’ll see if we can enable calls from outside the US and Canada.
