Episode 125: The Arizona Secular AA Conference

In this episode, Gary S. from Sun City West Arizona provides information about the third biennial Arizona Secular AA Conference, which will be held on November 9th at the 24th Street Conference Center in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Jeffrey Munn, author of Staying Sober Without God: The Practical 12 Steps to Long-Term Recovery from Alcoholism & Addiction will serve as the keynote speaker at the conference. Jeffrey’s background as a Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist, and as a secular person with many years of experience with 12 Step programs provide him with an interesting perspective on the 12 Steps.  

In addition to Jeffrey’s talk, Gregg O. from the DC and Kansas City We Agnostics groups will provide an update on the International Conference of Secular AA to take place in Bethesda, Maryland from October 30 – November 1, 2020. 

In addition to the speakers, there will be a variety of panel discussions including such topics as: 

  • Dogma and ritual in secular AA meetings. 
  • Raising awareness of secular AA meetings through work in General Service.
  • How to survive traditional AA meetings.
  • Tolerance within secular AA. 

Registration is $25 online at azsecularaa.org and is open through November 3rd. After that time, the registration is $30.00. Food and beverages are included in the cost of registration.
